Flesh Of The Lotus

John Holmes is at his best in this Johnny Wadd detective classic. An old flame of John's (Sheila) is murdered in a canyon home of the Hollywood Hills. Driven by his one-time love and lust for the girl, he is determined to find her killer. His first clue is from a lesbian who knew Sheila very well. John catches her masturbating with a very large dildo and then he amazes her with the live version.

One clue leads to another as alcohol and money are discovered to be the precipitating causes of Sheila's death. A ring is found on one of the suspects and Wadd recognizes it as belonging to a member of the Lotus gang, the meanest gang in Chinatown. Even the police won't lend any assistance against them. Has Johnny Wadd finally met his match? The voluptuous women, the great fight scenes, and the exhilarating erotic action are bound to leave you breathless. A classic film for all Johnny Wadd fans!

Made (or at least copyrighted) in 1972, this may be the earliest Johnny Wadd movie. John Holmes is billed as John Duval and director Bob Chinn as Bob A. Lain. It's like a crude sketch of the far superior Wadd movies Holmes and Chinn would collaborate on subsequently.

The sex scenes are like quickie loops - poorly photographed and boringly performed - tied together by the thinnest of stories. The most effective scene is the finale - a kung fu fight between Holmes and Chinn, who plays the bad guy. It's really pretty bad. The only reason it gets that extra half-A is because of the legendary Holmes.

Annette Haven fans, take note: Despite her photo on the DVD disc, she is nowhere in the movie, under any name.
