Heather Hunter appears in 53 scenes.
Heather Hunter, hailed as this generation's most well-regarded sexual icon is ready to start another phase of her career.......as a rap superstar. As an artist who has consistently and successfully re-invented herself as an actress, artist, and performer, Heather has returned to her roots- hip hop, with the recent release of her debut CD entitled, Heather Hunter: The Unexpected, released by David Copeland and Heather Hunter's record label Blo Records. For a debut album, it is more than impressive. Heather showcases that not only does she have something to say, but she says it with style and flow.
From growing up around the Latin Quarter where legendary pioneers of rap hailed, Heather was exposed to this kind of music at an early age. On her debut CD, she pays homage to these legends, as well as present day rappers, in addition to her friend Prince. She also has some of the heaviest hitters in today's music industry participating in her CD and supporting her transformation from adult film icon to hip-hop sensation.
"Heather Hunter: The Unexpected" is not only executive produced by Heather, but includes some of the most talented and fresh producers in the industry, including Scott Storch, DJ Premier, Fantom of the Beat and A'Freedom Lyles. The album also features guest appearances by Mister Cee, Akinelye and Wyclef Jean. Her official first single, "So Serious" is in rotation on BET, and is being added to MTV2 and FUSE.
"So Serious" gives listeners a three dimensional view into Heather's multifaceted mind. "People know me for many different things", she explains. "But they really don't know all of me. On this album, people get to find out what really makes Heather Hunter." Staying true to her unpredictable nature, Heather Hunter displays her versatility with other edgy songs from her album like 'In Love' that exposes her emotional thoughts. Other songs on the hard hitting album include 'Girl on Girl' featuring Tavonia Taylor, 'Ms. Hater', and 'Hot One' featuring Erinyes.
Referenced in songs by heavy-weight rappers like Lil Kim, LL Cool J, Snoop Dog, and collaborating with Tupac Shakur, Heather has lent a strong hand in crushing taboos and leading the charge of sexual liberation. "I never really thought about it when I was doing it" she admits. "I just knew what I wanted to do and made it happen. That's just how I am."
In an attempt to avoid comparisons to her equally adventurous lyrical peers, like Lil Kim, Trina, Foxy Brown and the rest, Heather plans to make her entrance on a less sexual but more boastful note. "I'm not a porn star. That was something I did 10 years ago. That's why I did 'So Serious.' I am telling people to take whatever I do seriously. I have other talents to express."
Music and entertainment has always been a part of Heather's life. As a child she volunteered with the Lou Rawls Parade of Stars with her mother who worked for the United Negro College Fund. But in her teenage years, she became no stranger to the streets of Harlem and Brooklyn. She formed a group called, The Sweetness Group, and played local shows and even had some studio time- this ignited her dreams of a career in the music industry. Heather was also a gifted graffiti artist. She was picked up off the streets to make more of her life and fell into Keith Haring's art program for troubled kids and runaways. Haring's strong influence, in part, helped channel Heather's creativity, and style. As a result, she now boosts an impressive art studio in Brooklyn where she creates top selling sensual/pop-art to high net worth individuals and celebrities. A living testament, Heather has used her rough times in childhood as fuel to her unwavering ambition for success as she comes into her own as an up-and-coming hip-hop sensation with her debut CD.
'Heather Hunter: The Unexpected' as fantastic an album as it is, does not come close to representing all Heather has to offer. With her insatiable passion for being number one, Heather proves that she is an incomparable artist with a bright future in the music industry. The soon-to-be crowned queen of media has penned her semi-autobiographical novel 'Simone Insatiable Desires' and has released her collection of hedonistic art titled, 'The Hunter Collection'.
